Music
Our music teacher presents the joy, fun and magic of learning through music in her weekly classes.  Monthly themes reinforce curricular concepts presented by the classroom teacher.  The children practice their listening, moving, singing, playing and creating musical skills as they interact with songs, music and instruments.  The monthly parent newsletter presents the musical concepts to be developed as well as lyrics so parents can sing along with their children.

Creative Movement
“RIZUMU” is our unique creative movement program, taught weekly by an experienced rizumu teacher.   Originating in Japan, this program helps children to develop body and self-awareness, good posture, neural-motor and cardio -vascular stimulation, as well as cooperative interaction skills.  It also enhances the development of listening, observation and concentration skills.  Children are instructed in small groups wearing regular clothes and bare feet.

Spanish
Our Spanish teacher instructs our children in small group sessions each week.   She presents language concepts and vocabulary that is familiar to the child’s life experience.  Hispanic culture is incorporated through holiday celebrations and special events. The monthly parent newsletter, outlines the goals, vocabulary, songs and special projects for the month.  Teachers participate in the classes and reinforce Spanish words and phrases in their programs.

Technology
Our Kindergarten students are introduced to t beginning computer skills in a weekly class conducted by our technology teacher.  The students are directed in activities regarding the nature and operation of a computer as well as use the computer  to perform a variety of tasks.  A selection of software is used in the instructional process as well as for independent learning.  Our Junior Kindergarten students use their classroom computers during center play, during which they practice reading, math and problem solving skills using age-appropriate software.
