Our four year old students explore stories, letters and sounds, as they learn how words and books work. Literacy skills are presented in large and small group settings and integrated into science and social studies lessons. An array of math manipulatives makes number concepts and simple operations a physical experience. Hand writing skills are built through directed lessons using creative tactile materials. Social skills are developed through center play time, as well as snack and playground time. The bible curriculum presents Old Testament stories that demonstrate God’s love for his people. |
Our older Junior Kindergarten class is designated for children who will become 5 between November and April and who have completed a four year old program. This class utilizes a different literacy curriculum and provides for additional skill development and enrichment activities in reading readiness, math, social studies and science.
