Parent-Teacher Organization
Our Parent-Teacher Organization is designed to involve parents in school activities that not only support our school, but also give them insight into our programs. All parents are members and are encouraged to attend our monthly planning meetings. Parents participate in holiday luncheons and classroom parties and help our teachers with classroom duties and field trips.
The PTO plans and funds a number of family-focused fun events. The Fall Festival kicks off the school year, followed by Santa’s Secret Shop , Dinner with Santa and the Holiday Book Fair. The Pirate and Princess Party in February adds sparkle to the winter doldrums. May brings the Spring |
Fling where the school grounds are filled with entertaining activities, delicious food, and time to visit with family and friends. Funds for these events and for special school purchases are generated through these gatherings.
Community Activities
Our community activities support area families and children’s charities. Over the past two years, we have been a collection site for Toys for Tots, and have supported a family through Christmas with requested needs and gifts. We support Samaritan Purse's Operation Christmas Child, through which our families fill gift shoeboxes that are distributed to needy children in developing countries. This Christmas, we filled 60 boxes. We are a member of the Joe15 Community Youth Group, supporting their yearly food and blood drives. Over the past three years our families have raised $2500 for St. Jude Children’s Hospital through our spring Trike-a Thon. When you see our staff wearing denim, they are contributing to our monthly support of the Susan B. Koman Cancer Foundation and B.A.R.N., a local family assistance program.
